“Ōtsu is located on the southern and western shore of Lake Biwa and occupies most of the southwestern portion of Shiga Prefecture.
“Sendai is the capital city of Miyagi Prefecture, the largest city in the Tōhoku region.
“Sapporo is the largest city north of Tokyo and the largest city on Hokkaido, the northernmost main island of the country.
“Wakkanai is a city located in Sōya Subprefecture, Hokkaido. It contains Japan’s northernmost point, Cape Sōya, from which the Russian island of Sakhalin can be seen.
“Nemuro is a city and port located in Nemuro Subprefecture, Hokkaido.” It is near to Cape Nosappu, which is the easternmost point in Japan.
