Photos of Liechtenstein (January 2014)

Images of Vaduz in Liechtenstein, taken in January 2014.

“Vaduz is the capital of the principality of Liechtenstein and the seat of the national parliament. The town, located along the Rhine, has about 5,300 inhabitants most of whom are Roman Catholic. Its cathedral is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Vaduz. It has a lively tourist industry, despite being one of the very few capital cities in the world without an airport or railway station.

“Liechtenstein, officially the Principality of Liechtenstein, is a doubly landlocked alpine country in Central Europe, bordered by Switzerland to the west and south and by Austria to the east and north. Its area is just over 160 square kilometres (62 square miles), and it has an estimated population of 35,000.”

  1. Hi Anthony,

You presented a wonderful presentation of Vaduz. The pictures’ content and color brings back memories of when I was in Europe in the mid to late 80s.

I also rode in a boat on the Rhine River that had a motor but my ex-husband and I were able to pedal it with our feet too, if the engine would have stopped working.

Maybe, one day I will visit Germany again or other countries that I did not see when I was there.

Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing.

    Best wishes,

    Vickie

  2. Thanks Vickie for the comment and good to hear about the Rhine trip. You’re right about Europe – it’s a great place to visit. Tony.

  3. I am nearly 73 years old and I was last in Liechtenstein when I was a schoolboy. You can do the Math! It doesn’t appear to have changed much, and why should it. Thanks for the great pics.

If you enjoy travel why not visit South Wales, where I live? Great scenery.

    1. Thanks for the comment Clive.

I actually have been to South Wales a few times and it is great. Been to Cardiff, Swansea, Newport and recently Chepstow Castle (got photos of the latter).

      Tony.
